Joomla CMS is a so-called open source Content Management System (CMS) in which a website is built. Recently Joomla released the third generation 1.6. This version is faster than older versions and offers a better interface in the backend.  Especially the users application has improved which makes it easier to control different type of users. 
                                             
The Joomla team is less strict in controlling module developments. This makes it more difficult to find a strong and steady free available module. The construction of pages is based on menu’s. This makes it more difficult to show many different modules on one page

Due to the simple construction Joomla’s systems have become very popular under the less professional website managers.
